There seems to be a common denominator to the asian way to the beach: the umbrella. (see also what's going on in Japan)

Well, someone prefers the Italian way ;-)

Sanya

Sanya (Simplified: 三亚; Traditional: 三亞) is the southernmost city in Hainan (海南) province, China. It is commonly known as "the Chinese Hawaii", and in fact there was a very pleasant weather.

Enoshima - 江ノ島

Enoshima (江の島) is a small island, about 4 km in circumference, at the mouth of the Katase River, which flows into Sagami Bay in Japan.
Part of the city of Fujisawa, it is linked to the Katase section of the same city on the mainland by a 600 meter-long bridge.
Adjacent to the closest beach to Tokyo and Yokohama, the island and the nearby coast are the hub of a popular resort area.




Enoshima is the center of Shonan, a resort area along the coast of Sagami Bay known for its scenic beauty.


Katase-Enoshima Station (片瀬江ノ島駅), where I dropped off, is designed to evoke the image of Ryūgū-jō (竜宮城, or Dragon Palace), the underwater dwelling in the Urashima Taro fable.

The Japanese way to beach

D-Day, Omaha beach (1944. 06.06)

On June 6, 1944, an assault barge landed Robert Capa on Omaha Beach. Stumbling ashore under heavy fire, he exposed four rolls of the most famous films in history. As luck would have it, all but eleven frames were ruined in Life’s London darkroom when the emulsion ran in an over-heated drying cabinet. However, Life, and the world press, published the surviving images, calling them "slightly out of focus" from the blurred emulsion. And Capa maintained his dangerous franchise as the most colorful war photographer.
This is a picture of the giant reproduction of one of the surviving shots, printed on the wall nearby the entrance of the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (東京都写真美術館), near Ebisu (恵比寿).
