Today I went to see the first sumo tournament of the year, in Ryogoku, really looking for seeing my favourite rikishi (=sumo wrestler), the Mongolian Asashoryu. He is much faster and stronger than anybody else, at least for the moment, and has an impressive record of wins in a row (36 if I'm not wrong). He is also young (24) so he should be able to continue to win for the next 10 years, at least. Wow!
Another funny guy is Takamisakari, Japanese wrestler from Aomori. He is much funnier than strong, and it's nice to see how much people love him.
Now that I finally understand most of the rules, I'm really enjoying this event. And the live event is much, much better than on tv.
Ah, today there was also the Emperor of Japan with his wife. My seat was right in front of him ^_^
