During the
Takaoka Mikurumayama Matsuri, 7 richly adorned Mikurumayama (御車山, floats) are drawn solemnly around the city according to the ancient customs.
It seems that only the boys are allowed to board the floats, and only the ones belonging to the families of the owners. Judging from their faces, though, they did not really seem very happy.
